Lou Gallo is at the center of the alleged conspiracy to cover up sex abuse in Sovereign Grace Church of Fairfax.  He’s been a pastor in the church since 1998.  He just quit or was let go the end of August.  He is currently unemployed but looking for a position in property management.  The information below comes from his LinkedIn resume.

A new lawsuit against Gallo, et al. will be coming out in Virginia soon.  Here is one piece of correspondence I recently sent Gallo.  I genuinely hope he is cooperating with law enforcement and testifying to all he knows.

Answer me this simple question Lou.  Are you fully cooperating with law enforcement?  For instance, you publicly referred to [name removed] as a sex abuser on July 24, 2011 but never reported him to police.  Have you turned from this conspiracy to cover up the crimes you referenced?  Have you fully informed the Fairfax County Police Department of [his] history?  If not, you should be arrested and charged for breaking the law.

Grant Layman resigned from Covenant Life Church in Gaithersburg, MD six weeks before the Nathaniel Morales trial began.  John Loftness, Chairman of the Board for SGM, resigned six weeks before he was accused by lawyers of physically and sexually abusing a child.  And now, Lou Gallo quits (or was fired) before the new lawsuit comes out in Virginia.

I think this lawsuit will be devastating.  It will include additional victims, conspirators, and perpetrators.  It will also go farther in connecting C.J. Mahaney to an alleged interstate conspiracy to protect child predators.

Steve Shank’s biography is incredibly padded and way outdated.  It appears on the website for Sovereign Grace Church of Gilbert in Arizona.  Rich Richardson is the senior pastor.

Steve Shank, Pastor

Steve has been involved with Sovereign Grace Ministries since its inception.  Ordained as a pastor in 1980, Steve has been a part of several church plants and currently oversees all of the Sovereign Grace churches in Western North America, Canada, and Central and South America.  Steve and his wife Janis live in Queen Creek and have 4 children.

Here are the facts.  Shank now oversees seven churches in the Southwest (CA, AZ, CO), not in Western North America.  Since February, Rich Gamache has been responsible for the Northwest.  Moreover, Shank oversees no churches in Western Canada.  They left in December 2012 and June 2014.

Shank also told SGM when interviewed in February 2014, that he oversaw the church in Juarez, Mexico and Aguascalientes, Mexico “for the time being.”  I’ve been told those churches have been turned over to Miguel Nunez from the Dominican Republic.

Lastly, Shank oversees no churches in Central and South America except for the two possibilities in Mexico. His biography is pure hype. (Though I can vouch for the fact that he is married to Janis and has four children!)

Sovereign Grace Ministries has never kept people current on negative developments.  They have also failed to correct faulty public information that favors them even after being notified.  Here is one example.

Subject: Update Maps

You need to update the US map and the States maps with dots indicating the location of SGM churches.  They are incredibly outdated.  For example, Providence Church in Pittsburgh left nearly a year ago [September 2013] but is still on the US and PA map.  Or for example, you have eight churches on the FL map.  There are only five remaining and Metro Life will be leaving soon [Metro Life left in August].

##

Every year Sovereign Grace Ministries highlights their new Pastors College class in September.  So far nothing has been published on the website.  Maybe it will be a big class.  Maybe a small class.  Maybe no class at all.

The Pastors College was abruptly moved to Louisville, Kentucky after C.J. Mahaney left Covenant Life Church (CLC) in Gaithersburg, MD.  Enrollment plummeted.  In 2013, the school graduated a mere nine students.  In 2014, it also graduated nine students.  As a result, the Pastors College ran a two year budget deficit of nearly 1 million dollars.

Furthermore, the Pastors College no longer enjoys the support of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (SBTS) where Al Mohler is President.  Immediately after the conviction of Nathaniel Morales in May, the SBTS broke off its special relationship with the Pastors College.  That’s because Grant Layman, a CLC pastor and C.J. Mahaney’s brother in law, testified under oath that a conspiracy was at work under Mahaney’s leadership to cover up the crimes.

It is possible the school will be discontinued for a year.  That would be wise because Mahaney’s woes are only going to increase and the school is based in his church.  If so, however, don’t expect a story on the SGM website that tells you why in an open and honest fashion.

Postscript

SGM updated their maps on September 24.
